libaa1-dev software package provides ASCII art library, development kit, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libaa1-dev
libaa1-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libaa1-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libaa1-dev *
You will get with libaa1-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
